# Quick Entry (Schnellerfassung) tab

> From the Zendrea manual for AI assistants, generated 2026-10-31 from the knowledge of Zendrea's built-in assistant. All topics: https://www.zendrea.ch/llms.txt; all of them in one file: https://www.zendrea.ch/llms-full.txt. Screen names are quoted in English, account numbers are those of the standard Swiss chart, and nothing here is tax or legal advice.

The Entries panel has a **Quick Entry** tab (last in the list; hidden on touch devices): a keyboard-first one-line booking box for expenses and manual entries. The user types a fuzzy line like "21.8 Internet Connection 89.90 bank" or "6500/1020 22.1 100 Materialeinkauf" — the words may come in any order and any app language ("exp", "ausgabe", "bar", "cc" all work; payments take "pay", "zahl", "zahle", "zahlen", "zahlung", "bezahl", "bezahle", "bezahlen", "payer", "règlement", "pagare", "saldare") — a live preview under the box shows the resolved booking, and **Enter books it directly** when everything is resolved (Shift+Enter always opens the normal form instead; anything ambiguous or unresolved opens the prefilled form — nothing is ever guessed or silently dropped). The complete typing concept, with its tables, is the topic [quick-entry](https://www.zendrea.ch/docs/quick-entry.md). The commonest reason an EXPENSE line does not book by itself is an unstated paid-from: it has to be said — a word ("bar", "bank"), a .creditor, or carried over from the previous line — because booking "on account" is never assumed from a preset's payable default. A custom preset that PINS a paid-from counts as having said it, whether that is a money account or the creditor the cost is owed to, so "ionos 14.00" books on its own once the Ionos preset carries its creditor (set under Zahlung in the preset dialog, which needs "Nur für <company>" ticked). It suggests completions from the user's own booking history — including the previous fiscal year's bookings, so a new year starts with last year's habits — as grey ghost text (accept with Tab or →, which adopts the earlier booking's own capitalisation), ↓ (then ↓/↑ to walk the list, ↑ back out) recalls previous bookings as editable text, the date carries forward from line to line, and Ctrl+Z (pressed twice, on an empty box) deletes the last booking of the session. **The dot is the ONLY keyword prefix** (the former @ and # sigils are retired; those characters are ordinary text now, so "Sponsoring @veloclub" or "#expo26" are fine descriptions). A dotted word never joins the description and resolves through a fixed ladder — first rank that answers wins, a tie within a rank opens the form, an unresolvable dotted word opens the form too: (1) exact account or sub-ledger code — ".6500" forces the expense account, ".k-ionos" names that supplier; (2) PRESET name — ".it" / ".ionos" routes the preset without putting the word into the text, the user's OWN preset label wins over a built-in word spelled the same, and a two-word label is joined with a hyphen (".abschluss-bankkonto") because a space would end the token; (3) supplier/client by name — ".swisscom"; (4) the closed vocabulary, so ".bank" or ".vat81" also resolve. A preset resolved by dot carries its whole template incl. the pinned creditor, which is why a preset named like its supplier is the right answer — and the supplier stays reachable by code. **VAT on an expense line:** a line that names NO preset books with NO VAT unless VAT is said; a preset line takes the preset's default. "vat"/"mwst"/"tva"/"iva" = VAT included at the last rate this company booked with; a VAT word plus digits names the rate ("vat81", "vat8.1", "mwst8", "tva2.6" — validated against the active codes); "vat0"/"mwst0"/"tva0"/"iva0"/"novat" = explicitly no VAT; "8.1%" also works. The former no-VAT words "ohne"/"keine"/"sans"/"senza" are plain text now. A VAT word on a debit/credit-pair line opens the form instead of booking, because a manual entry has no VAT machinery and the typed rate must not vanish. Quotation marks make a literal description span (inside which only a preset word is still recognised, and only when the line names an account too — it then labels the booking without moving it) — a description that happens to contain a grammar word ("Patchkabel diverse", "Rechnung Swisscom", "Kabel bar") must be quoted, or the word is read as the manual-entry verb / the invoice verb / the cash source instead; the history list quotes automatically when it hands a booking back as an editable line. On a PAYMENT line the source may be named by word ("bank", "transfer" for the transfer account 1090 — the account that lets ONE bank movement settle several bills; "transfer" also works on an EXPENSE line, booking the expense against 1090 for the same reason) **or by account code** — "pay ER5 2470" settles the bill from the shareholder loan, "pay ER5 1010" from the postal account — but only codes the settlement picker actually offers count (its banks, 1090 and the shareholder loans); any other 4-digit number is read as an amount, and an amount on a payment line means a partial settlement, which opens the dialog. Decimals disambiguate: "2470" is the account, "2470.00" is an amount. The dot works there too and means the same thing — on a payment line the only account there is is the source, so "pay ER5 .2470" is the source and an account that cannot fund a payment ("pay ER5 .6500") is refused with a message rather than ignored. It also finds the bill FROM A BANK STATEMENT, which never carries our document number: **"pay 31.53"** searches the still-open items for that exact open amount, and any further words narrow it — "pay 31.53 swisscom" also matches the payee (supplier name, description, document number), each word narrowing further. The amount is optional ("pay swisscom" works if only one of their bills is open). It resolves ONLY on a unique hit: several matches say "keep typing", and the preview marks a bill found this way as inferred, since the user never typed its number. An amount is only a PARTIAL payment when a document number is also named ("pay ER5 31.53"), which opens the dialog. It also records **payments**: "pay ER5" (or just "ER5") settles that still-open bill for its full open amount from the carried or typed source, and works for supplier bills, asset bills, customer invoices ("ze" narrows to incoming) and imported/manual bills alike — the number identifies the BILL, while the payment draws its own K/B number. Typing only the series head completes it: "pay re" ghosts the OLDEST still-open document in that series (Tab or → accepts), so the user never has to remember a number. Part payments, foreign-currency bills and bills from another fiscal period are handed to the normal payment dialog instead. Salary payments and the VAT/AHV/BVG settlements are NOT in quick entry by design — each is settled from its own report, and a second payment path would risk double-settling. Creating invoices, salaries and asset purchases is likewise not in quick entry yet — those go through their own tabs. When a user asks for the fastest way to type many simple bookings (e.g. working through a bank statement), point them to this tab.

### Complete word catalog (generated from the live dictionary — these are ALL the words; never invent others)
Any listed word works in any app language. Matching is case-insensitive with accents folded (ä→ae, é→e), and a prefix of 2+ letters also works when it is unambiguous across this whole catalog ("kre" → kreditkarte; "ka" is refused: kasse or karte). When a user asks what to type, quote words from this catalog only.

Booking-type words (what kind of line this is):
